Pre Employment Transition Services (P.E.T.S.)
For students between the ages of 14-21 years of age, P.E.T.S. provides multiple levels of services. This includes classroom training with curriculums focused on several topics such as self-advocacy training, independent living skills training, and work based learning training. This program also allows for individual services including job shadowing with a CESP™ certified Employment Specialist in fields of the student’s interest. Work based learning experience is another component of the service, allowing students to work 90 hours with paid employment. This experience is intended to develop and apply employment skills.

The program offers an opportunity for socialization and recreation counseling that reinforces positive social skills and a weekly respite for parents/guardians. The program uses evidence based curriculums on anti-bullying strategies and the development of age appropriate social skills. The curriculum emphasizes areas such as getting along with others, avoiding conflicts, and anger management. The program also fosters making healthy choices, citizenship, and introducing job skills to participants.
